The theory is that the closer you have the keywords to the beginning of the page or post, the more important the search engines deem it to be. If you are using images, you need to use the keywords for the images as well. Search engines can see the images and they can tell them what the image is. 

However, if you use a non-descriptive or generic image, it won’t hold any weight. For example, if you are using an image of the amount of money, you should use a descriptive title tag. The title tag should have the name of the image and contain the keywords you want to rank for.

Linking

If you make sure that you have internal links within your site that link to pages with relevant and related content, you will hold more weight with the search engines. Make sure that you have descriptive anchor links that include the keywords you are trying to rank for. Make sure that the links are using the text that you want to rank for. Search engines will see that the links lead to relevant content. This will help your site rank for that particular keyword phrase.
