Planning a Family Trip to Alabama

0

Alabama is quickly becoming one of the most popular vacation destinations in the world.  People love the idea of getting away to somewhere that’s not only affordable but also has some amazing scenic views from The Gulf Coast to the mountain ranges and multiple other attractions in between.

These are the best locations to visit with your family while you’re in the state!

  • Gulf State Park

Many people assume that Alabama is landlocked, but its southern border dips down to the gulf coast.  Gulf State Park is a fun recreation area on the Gulf of Mexico with Gulf Shores.  You can find everything from swimming to boogie-boarding and fun in the sand.

This park stretches from the beach into marshland and offers the chance to cut loose and have fun regardless of where you’re traveling from.  Over time this park has received a lot of improvements and updates, and it’s quickly become a hot spot to visit for anyone who needs to get away.

  • U.S. Space and Rocket Center

If your kids are interested in space or science: this is a must-stop location for anyone who wants to learn!  The U.S. Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama, is an awesome museum operated by the government.  It has exhibits ranging from actual rockets and space vehicles to fun informational booths that can gill you in on history.

Recently turning 50, this center offers insight into the Apollo Program and how many jobs and lives it changed in its existence.

  • Birmingham Museum of Art

An art appreciation is important if you want your children to have well-balanced lives.  Unfortunately, many people don’t realize how important that is.  The Birmingham Museum of Art offers families the chance to allow their children to see art in person.

Not only can they experience how beautiful art can be, but there are also often small hands-on exhibits for families with children who want to spark more interest in creativity.

  • Oak Mountain State Park

If looking at Birmingham homes for sale has you getting a little stir crazy, it’s time to take a break and head out to Oak Mountain State Park.  This state park has gorgeous mountain views, incredible biking, and walking trails, just twenty miles short of Birmingham.

Home to the Alabama Wildlife Center, the Oak Mountain Interpretive Center, and Oak Mountain BMX Track, there’s a lot to see and do here year-round, and it can be interesting to make the most of.

  • Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo

Zoos are fun for families of any size with kids of any age!  At the Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo, you can see hundreds of animals spread out over 25 acres of land.  This gives your children the opportunity to run around and get some energy while ensuring you can also have fun learning about and seeing the endless pretty animals around you.

Alabama surprises everyone who visits, and for a good reason!  If you want a piece of magic from this great town, consider making memories with your family at one of these locations.
